Welcome to the Tri-County Fly Fishers Website.
Tri-County Fly Fishers, Inc. is a not for profit Club whose members have a true love for fly-fishing. We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to fly fish and gain experience in the art of fly tying; and become an active member of the fly-fishing Club.
This Club is made up of about eighty members from beginners to those with 50+ years of fly-fishing and tying experi-ence. Fishing interests range from bluegills and bass to redfish and tarpon, with an occasional rainbow or brown trout from up north or out west thrown in. Today, membership is drawn from permanent and seasonal residents of those in and around the Florida counties of Lake, Sumter and Marion.

Welcome! Well, I guess you could say I'm back in the saddle again after 7 glorious weeks out in Colorado at my cabin fishing on the Pine River. By the way, here is a little fun fact that I bet you didn't know. Although the song "Back in the Saddle Again" has long been associated with Gene Autry, the original version of "Back in the Saddle Again" was written by Ray Whitley for the film Border G-Man (RKO Pictures, June 24, 1938) starring George O'Brian, Laraine Day, and Ray Whitley. Thought I'd clear that up. But I digress...

So, looks like a lot has been going on in the Club since I last reported in. Jon Cave made his annual visit to our Club to demonstrate and teach fly casting in April and Gina Russo gave her catch and release techniques presentation in May. We formed...

I received this letter via email yesterday from a blog I subscribe to and thought I would share this with you all. I had the opportunity to meet Lefty at the Renzetti Expo in 2015. This was truly one of the highlights of my fly fishing career! Certainly a legendary "giant in our sport" not to mention a really great guy!

 To my friends,

I was 92 in January and had a carotid artery operation. During testing the hospital determined my heart was only pumping 35% and must limit my physical activities followed by a rest. The industry was extremely helpful and last season was able to attend the shows, clinics, etc.

Richard P. Sisolak, 76, Inverness, Florida, died April 6, 2015, at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto. He was a U. S. Army veteran. A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2015, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Military Honors provided by VFW Post 4337. TCFF Boat Buddy Group

We are forming a new sub-group in the Club called the TCFF Boat Buddy Group. We are doing this in an effort to give those of you that wish to fish and don’t have a kayak, the opportunity to do so.
