Welcome to the Tri-County Fly Fishers Website.
Tri-County Fly Fishers, Inc. is a not for profit Club whose members have a true love for fly-fishing. We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to fly fish and gain experience in the art of fly tying; and become an active member of the fly-fishing Club.
This Club is made up of about eighty members from beginners to those with 50+ years of fly-fishing and tying experi-ence. Fishing interests range from bluegills and bass to redfish and tarpon, with an occasional rainbow or brown trout from up north or out west thrown in. Today, membership is drawn from permanent and seasonal residents of those in and around the Florida counties of Lake, Sumter and Marion.

December 2017 Presidents Message

Happy Holiday’s! Welcome and thanks to all members who have chosen to be part of the Tri -County Fly Fishers Club. Once again, it was an honor to serve as your President these past 4 years and I’m looking forward to another successful term for 2018-2019. Thanks. We are surrounded by a great Board of Directors that are all very passionate about our sport and our Club. We were able to grow our membership to 96 at years end and going into 2018, we have (as of December 6), 40 renewals. I’m confident that we will have many more members renew by the February 7th deadline. Many thanks to Jim Bellinghieri for the difficult task of keeping our membership roster up to date and accurate, ordering name tags for new members, keeping track of applications and release forms and ensuring our members are paid up fully each year. I am proud to say that today our Club is as strong as it has ever been thanks the hard work of several. As always our focus this year was not only on catching fish but also on education, conservation and community outreach.  Click "read more"

 To my friends,

I was 92 in January and had a carotid artery operation. During testing the hospital determined my heart was only pumping 35% and must limit my physical activities followed by a rest. The industry was extremely helpful and last season was able to attend the shows, clinics, etc.

Several weeks ago, I realized I was developing ...

November 2015 Presidents Message

“Do you keep them?” Invariably, that is the question I’m asked when I tell people that I fly-fish. “No, I like to practice catch and release” is my usual response. With a puzzled look on their face, the follow up question…here it comes…“Well, if you’re not going to keep and eat them, why...
