Welcome to the Tri-County Fly Fishers Website.
Tri-County Fly Fishers, Inc. is a not for profit Club whose members have a true love for fly-fishing. We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to fly fish and gain experience in the art of fly tying; and become an active member of the fly-fishing Club.
This Club is made up of about eighty members from beginners to those with 50+ years of fly-fishing and tying experi-ence. Fishing interests range from bluegills and bass to redfish and tarpon, with an occasional rainbow or brown trout from up north or out west thrown in. Today, membership is drawn from permanent and seasonal residents of those in and around the Florida counties of Lake, Sumter and Marion.

October 2017 Presidents Message

Welcome. After a brief summer break we’re back at it in full swing. Please check out the Club website “blog” page for information or updates on upcoming events, trips and outings.

Our regularly scheduled business meetings began again at Pennbrooke Fairways on the 6th of September. Our September evening presentation was a presentation by Scott Henett on "Fly Fishing Cockroach Bay Preserve State Park”. We had an excellent turnout! This month’s presentation will be by Capt. Mark Benson on “The American Shad of the St. Johns River” and should be a good one! The presentation will be back at the Wildwood Community Center. We’ll also have fly casting out on the lawn and fly tying upstairs, both beginning at 5:30pm.

Our TCFF Kayak Group and our TCFF Bank Fishing Group have been somewhat quite as of late due to the effects of hurricane Irma. Russ and Bob will be outlining local fishing opportunities for both groups just as soon as the water calms down. Remember, you won’t find these opportunities outlined on the website and if you are interested in going with either group during the week, please contact Russ or Bob to get on the email list. Bob also has several Bass n’ Breakfast outings lined up for the remainder of the year and the dates can be found on the website blog.

I’ll be outlining our Winterfest Holiday Dinner and our Club picnic as we get nearer the dates so stay tuned for that. Keep your fishing reports coming. With the cooler weather upon us, the fishing opportunities will be heating up soon.

In the meantime...go fish!
