I am interested in buying some old bamboo fly rods in any condition, even broken pieces for parts and other projects. Would I be able to ask our club members about this on the club website? I have restored some of these rods to use as decorative pieces. Thanks for your time on this in advance. Michael Mellesh.
Phillipson, Ed M. Hunter "Approved", Varnished 6 strip bamboo flyrod. 8 1/2' for #4/5 line. Aluminum Down locking 'No-rock' reelseat. Very good original bag with original storage case. The factory markings - Ed M. Hunter, "Approved" - on the butt shaft above the grip, are complete and bold. The Ed M. Hunter "Approved" model was a special edition issued by Phillipson circa 1947.
From the seller:
"As we discussed today, I have a bamboo fly rod for sale. I purchased new when I was a teenager. It was used about ten times and then put in its case and stored.
I searched the web and found a site (customrodsmith@gmail.com) and saw the same rod at $360. I am willing to take half that ($180)."
