Passing of a Fly Tying Legend...Eric Leiser (1929- 2019)

Another one of the Legends in our sport, Eric Leiser, passed on January 21, 2019. He was 89. I tried to find a little more information on Eric but had a hard time. Many of you probably don't know this but Club member Ed Rapisardi knew him personally when he lived in upstate New York and Club member Pete Zito was in business with him back in the day. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but have several of his fly tying books. Eric authored eight books on fly tying, the use and procurement of fly tying materials, and development of specific insect artificials. Eric also served fly tyers nationwide with complete instructions on preparation and care of natural materials, photo dying, and as a source of high, standardized quality of fly tying materials.  His Complete Book of Fly Tying (1977) is in its 23rd printing and has exceeded sales of 100,000 copies.
